City of great commercial and cultural importance, seat of the second oldest university in Italy,  known for its quaint markets and for its lively old town, not everyone knows that Padova is one of the capitals of Italian art.  Many are in fact the works, some of world renown, preserved in its churches and museums.

It's sufficient to mention the Scrovegni Chapel, with frescoes by Giotto and visited by tourists from all over the globe.  And yet, the Basilica of St. Anthony, also a destination for pilgrims from all over, and rich in works of inestimable value, such as the altar of Donatello or the Monument to Gattamelata, in the square in the front, a work of  the Tuscan artist too.

The Cathedral, built to design by Michelangelo, the adjoining , frescoed, Baptistery, the "Scuola del Santo" and the "Oratorio di San Giorgio" with works by Titian and other important artists ... there are really many masterpieces of art, in Padua , which worth a visit.

The numerous and lively squares, highlighted the immense Prato della Valle, one of the largest in Europe, the thirteenth-century Palazzo della Ragione, and many characteristic porticoed streets of the old town , represent other reason to come and visit  this very enjoyable city.

There are many routes that you can combine a visit to Padua, being this city very close to Vicenza (35 km), Venice (35 km), the Euganean Hills (10 km) to the walled towns (average 20 km) and the Riviera del Brenta (15 km)
