Bassano del Grappa and Marostica,  located only a few kilometres from each other in the northeastern part of the Vicenza province, are considered two real "pearls" of this territory. 

 
Bassano del Grappa is a very pleasant city, due to its picturesque location at the foot of Mount Grappa, the scene of fierce battles during the First World War, and for its ancient old town.

 
Tourists love it for its livability, for the special atmosphere created by the many shops of all kinds, among which many historical workshops, and for being a city full of symbols: the covered wooden bridge (built on designed by Andrea Palladio, him again!), the production of grappa (a special Italian brandy), which here has its ancient and prestigious tradition, the story which remind the tragedies of the two world wars. 

 
The territory of Bassano is also famous for the production of a particular and very popular varieties of asparagus, among the best known and appreciated in Italy.
 
The nearby Marostica captures the views and impresses visitors from afar, with its circle of medieval walls in excellent condition, spanning the entire historical center, climbing the hill Pausolino. Marostica is a city of symbols too : the famous Chess Square, where every two years is played the famous living Chess Game, an event of global importance; the production of cherry, delicious and tasty to which is dedicated every year an important event; the two castles (the Upper and Lower).

The atmosphere in this village is fabulous, and enchants its many visitors.
