Did you know that the story of Romeo and Juliet originated right here? In fact, the local writer Luigi Da Porto, whose house overlooked the two homonymous castles, located in a dominant position in the hills of Montecchio Maggiore, imagined and wrote the story of the two unfortunate lovers, then picked up by Shakespeare and became a literary work which is known throughout the world.

Continuing towards the Vicenza Prealps we find another important center, Trissino, on whose hills lies another important historic dwell : Villa Trissino Marzotto.
