Built in pre-Palladian style, this beautiful and distinguishing building is an important element of urbanism of the pretty little town of Thiene, in the North of Vicenza province. The historical center of Thiene is not only connected, but we can tell that gravitates on its Castle, of which represents an ideal continuation.
Elements of interest of Colleoni Castle are the frescoes by G.B. Zelotti and G.A. Fasolo, the magnificent stables, with red marble columns of Asiago and "putti" in Vicenza stone, and a nice floor decorated with chain motif. In addition, the well-head of the courtyard is the work of Andrea Palladio.
This building is called "castle" for its Ghibelline battlements and because its shape closely resembles the characteristic architecture of the Venetian Villas before the architectural revolution that the great architect A.Palladio began.
The visit to this house , leaded by an internal guide, can be matched to that of Villa Godi Malinverni and Villa Piovene, only 7 km away.
