Villa Pisani De'Lazara is located in the South of Vicenza province, an high agricultural vocation area, by the gentle, serene and still untouched landscape.
Designed by Andrea Palladio in 1542 for a noble Venetian family, the Pisani, the villa has a central section framed by towers and offers typical facade with large loggia resting on staircase and topped by the eardrum.
The nobles cultivated particularly the rice, and Guà River, which flows right next to the villa, was used to transport goods to and from Venice.
The surrounding land ownership was immense. It 's very nice to the plot of land which remains in front of the residence, to which were added in later periods the massive barns, used to storage of agricultural tools, according to the custom of the time.
Remarkable the central hall, with a barrel vault, and the rooms, symmetrically arranged, as the classical drawing of the Palladian Villa.
In the kitchen dined Queen Elizabeth of England. It's interesting the visit to the premises that housed the cellars, ground floor.
A short distance away, there are two other Palladian villas, which then can be included along with this Villa in a unique tour itinerary:
Villa Saraceno "The Landmark Trust" in Finale of Agugliaro, and Villa Poiana, in Pojana Maggiore.
The visit to this Villa can be combined with a visit to a local winery and its vineyard, with explanation of manifacturing process of wine and wine-tasting.
