Villa Cordellina Lombardi is located in Montecchio Maggiore, ten miles west of Vicenza. This majestic residence is one of the few Venetian Villas to belong to a public institution. In this case, it's the Vicenza Province to have the ownership of this beautiful building, built during the eighteenth century.
Many are the reasons of interest to visit it: the frescoes by Tiepolo in the main hall (often used for conferences and events), the beautiful garden adorned with very precious statues, the valuables stables, the many visitable rooms where there are works of art of different styles.
The architect who built the Villa has clearly inspired to Palladio, with Ionic portico with four columns surmounted by the eardrum and the symmetrical arrangement of the rooms.
The garden is huge and, especially in the summer, it hosts plays and performances of various kinds; the capacity of the audience prepared for the occasion is of thousands of spectators.
A visit to this Villa may be the opportunity to climb to the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, and also to continue to Trissino, where is the Villa Trissino Marzotto.
